Times U DT SACCO began as Uruku Rural SACCO, with membership initially restricted to residents of Uruku Location. For over a decade, the Sacco operated within this limited common bond, serving a small rural community.
As its financial products and services gained recognition, demand for membership grew beyond Uruku. In response, the Sacco expanded its common bond in 2004 to include residents of Meru County and surrounding regions.
Over time, the SACCO has grown from a small community-based organization into a fully-fledged financial institution serving a wide and diverse membership across Meru County and beyond.
This expansion marked a major transformation in the Sacco’s growth journey, leading to its rebranding in 2009 from Uruku Rural SACCO Limited to Times U SACCO Limited.
Since then, the Sacco has continued to grow steadily, strengthening its financial base, expanding its product offerings, and improving service delivery to members across different economic sectors.
Today, Times U DT SACCO provides financial services to farmers, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), traders, quarry operators, market vendors, boda boda operators, registered self-help groups, and salaried employees in both public and private sectors.
